WFP Canvasses Urgent Global Action to Solve Food Crisis in 59 Countries with Acute Hunger

World Food Programme (WFP) has made a call for a global network against food crisis for a transformative approach to break acute hunger

WFP confirmed this on Wednesday following a recent report by Global Report on Food Crisis (GRFC) which says, nearly 282 million people in 59 countries and territory experienced high level of acute hunger.

Antonio Guterrez, The United Nations (UN) Secretary General has demanded that an urgent response should be taken.

“This crisis demands an urgent response. Using the data in this report to transform food systems and address the underlying causes of food insecurity and malnutrition will be vital,” he said.
