FeedUp Africa, a non-profit organization, has announced plans to address the alarming rates of malnutrition among children under five in Ogun state.

Victoria Oletu, the Technical Lead at FeedUp Africa, Thursday, revealed that the organisation will be commemorating the Global Child Nutrition Month in April with an intervention at the Ofada Primary Health Care Center.

Oletu stated, “Our initiative involves an awareness outreach at the Ofada Primary Health Care Center, serving individuals in surrounding low-income villages and communities.”

She emphasised the purpose of the outreach, saying, “The purpose of this outreach is to raise awareness about the importance of proper nutrition during the first 1,000 days of a child’s life, educate caregivers and mothers on the significance of adequate nutrition for children’s growth and development, and promote the utilization of fortified complementary feeds and quality supplements to address malnutrition.”.

The intervention aims to educate and empower caregivers and mothers to provide proper nutrition for children, especially during the critical first 1,000 days of their lives. FeedUp Africa’s efforts align with the global goal of reducing malnutrition and improving child nutrition.
