DSS Urges Nigerians to Embrace Forgiveness, Unity at Easter

The Department of State Services (DSS) has extended Easter greetings to the Christian community and urged Nigerians to learn from the forbearance and humility of Jesus Christ.

In a press release by the Director of PR and  Strategic Communications, Dr Peter Afunanya, the DSS called on citizens to apply these qualities in their daily lives and show love for one another, the nation, and humanity.

He emphasised the importance of self-control, discipline, and compassion, urging Nigerians to eschew bitterness, disloyalty, fake news, hate speech, and violence.

The secret services also advised celebrants to abstain from illicit drugs, and excessive alcoholism, and reject all forms of bigotry and social vices during the Easter ceremony.

“Furthermore, the DSS implored Nigerians to renew their commitment to peace, unity, and inclusiveness in the country. It stressed the need for vigilance and encouraged citizens to report any attempt to breach security to relevant law enforcement agencies.”

To provide public guidance, the DSS reiterated the availability of its website, email address, and telephone lines for reporting security concerns. The website, www.dss.gov.ng, the email address, dsspr@dss.gov.ng, and the telephone lines, +234915 339 1309 and +234 908 837 3514, were given as contact points.
