The Examination President and Commander Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), Major General Kevin Aligbe, warned against exam malpractice underscoring the need to maintain integrity in the ongoing 2024 Lieutenant to Captain Practical Promotion Examination (LCPPE).

Speaking in Jos, Plateau State, on Sunday, General Aligbe reiterated the Nigerian Army’s stance against examination malpractices as he cautioned candidates against resorting to dishonest practices during the examination, warning that severe sanctions await those found culpable. He also added that the examination serves as a vital component of professional military education, aimed at honing the proficiency and junior leadership capabilities of officers while instilling the core values of the Nigerian Army.

Moreover, General Aligbe highlighted the examination’s role in assessing the discipline and courage of young officers, pivotal factors that shape their career progression within the Nigerian Army. He noted the alignment of the examination with the Command Philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, which centres on transforming the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped, and highly motivated force capable of fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities in a joint environment.

Assuring candidates of a fair and transparent examination process, General Aligbe emphasized the commitment of the Panelists and Directing Staff to uphold standards of integrity and impartiality.

Echoing General Aligbe’s sentiments, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander of Special Task Force, Operation Safe Haven, Major General AE Abubakar, urged candidates to approach the examination with diligence and decorum. He underscored the examination’s significance in shaping career development and enhancing officers’ understanding of military operations, particularly in ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency efforts across the nation.

The event witnessed the presence of observers from Army Headquarters, Headquarters 3 Armoured Division Nigerian Army, Principal Staff officers from Headquarters TRADOC, Nigerian Army, Examination Panelists, and the Directing Staff for the 2024 Lieutenant to Captain Practical Promotion Examination.
