President Bola Tinubu has lauded the unwavering dedication and sacrifices of Nigeria’s armed forces in safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity against all forms of threats.

Addressing attendees at the Diamond Jubilee celebration of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna on Saturday, the President reiterated his administration’s steadfast commitment to supporting the military in fulfilling its duties while ensuring their welfare remains a top priority.

Highlighting the NDA’s achievements, including the establishment of post-graduate programs and research centers, Tinubu urged the academic staff to foster innovation and transform the academy into a global hub for startups.

The president in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media & Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, also commended the leadership of the NDA for delivering high-quality military and academic training, attracting students not only from Nigeria but also from other African nations.

He expressed confidence in the military’s capacity to address ongoing security challenges, urging them to remain steadfast in their constitutional duty to protect Nigeria.

While acknowledging the progress made in combating insecurity, Tinubu emphasized the need to intensify efforts to ensure lasting peace and prosperity. He paid tribute to the sacrifices of fallen heroes and urged the armed forces to remain vigilant in the face of ongoing threats.

“Let me also add that although the war against the enemies of Nigeria is not over, it is fair to state that relative peace has been recorded across the major flash points. These successes have come at a price for the government and the populace. We remember our fallen heroes and those out in the trenches for the sake of our fatherland. Let us also celebrate their resilience and sacrifice at this diamond jubilee.”

Tinubu reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the armed forces and urged them to redouble their efforts in securing every inch of Nigerian territory. “I urge you to continue to play your constitutional role of safeguarding the territorial integrity of Nigeria, our fatherland. You must shun any acts that are inimical to the well-being of our nation and acts which can destroy the gains of democracy which we have enjoyed in the last 20 years
