Israel, Hamas War Resumes in Gaza After Expiration of Week Long Truce

Fighting between Israel and Hamas has resumed as Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu alleged it “violated” the truce.

Netanyahu made this known In a live video on Friday.

The live video showed heavy cloud of grey smoke rolling over northern Gaza, and apparent sounds of automatic weapons fire and explosions within the first 90 minutes after the truce expired at 0500 GMT.

According to the Israeli military, fighter jets were “currently striking” Hamas targets in Gaza, and journalists reported air strikes in the north and south of the territory.

A doctor with Al-Ahli hospital, Fadel Naim, said “two children were killed in air raids on Gaza City.”

A source close to Hamas told the media that the group’s armed wing had received the order to resume combat and to defend the Gaza Strip.
