Road accident claims four in Ondo

A fatal motor accident which happened on Tuesday morning has claimed four lives in Akure, the Ondo state capital.

Eyewitnesses said the accident which occurred on the Olokuta /Shasha road involved a Sienna bus and a hummer bus.

The Sienna bus said to be coming from the Ondo axis had a head-on collision with the Hummer bus going to Ore.

Four people were said to have died instantly including the driver of the Sienna bus.

“It took the intervention of motorists and residents around the area to rescue other passengers who were trapped in the vehicles,” an eyewitness said.

Men of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC in Ondo state later arrived at the scene and took the injured to the hospital while the corpses of the victims were also taken to the mortuary.
The accident caused a gridlock on the Akure-Ondo road for several hours.
