FCTA announces passing of Etsu Yaba

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has announced the death of Alh. Abdullahi Ibrahim Adamu, the Etsu of Yaba in Abaji Area Council of the FCT. 

Secretary of the Area Councils Services Secretariat, Alh. Ibrahim Dantsoho, while confirming the incident, disclosed that the late monarch who was the 10th Etsu of Yaba, died on Thursday night 9th March 2023, after a brief illness.

A family member of the deceased, Shuaibu Abdullahi, however told journalists that the late Etsu of Yaba chiefdom died while on his way to observe Magrib prayers, within his palace.

According to him, the monarch slumped suddenly and his aides rushed him to Abaji General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“Immediately he slumped, they moved him inside the car to the hospital. But unfortunately on arrival at the hospital, doctors confirmed him dead,” he said.

Jana’iza prayers for the 62 year old monarch is slated for 10 O’Clock in the morning at the Etsu’s palace in Yaba.

The death of Etsu Yaba chiefdom comes barely two months after the passing of the Etsu of Kwali chiefdom in Kwali Area Council of FCT, Alhaji Sha’aban Audu Nizaz, who died at a private hospital in Abuja, on December, 29, 2022.
